🌿 The Benefits of Cupping Therapy
Cupping!

As the temperature drops, our bodies naturally begin to contract — muscles tighten, circulation slows, and energy tends to stagnate. This is when cupping therapy becomes a deeply supportive practice.
Cupping isn’t just for athletes or injury recovery — it’s for anyone who feels tight, achy, or energetically “stuck.” The gentle suction created by the cups helps lift the layers of tissue, improving circulation and encouraging the body’s natural detox process.
🌬 What Cupping Helps With
Muscle Tension & Aches: Loosens fascia and relaxes deep layers of muscle without intense pressure.
Circulation & Warmth: Increases blood flow, helping your body feel warmer and more open during the colder months.
Lymphatic Flow: Supports gentle detoxification and reduces puffiness or stagnation.
Stress Relief: Calms the nervous system and supports emotional release stored in the body.
Energy Balance: Moves stagnant “chi” or life force energy, restoring flow throughout your system.
🔄 Dynamic vs. Static Cupping
In my sessions, I use both dynamic and static cupping, depending on what your body needs that day.
Dynamic cupping involves gently gliding the cups along your muscles, creating movement and flow. It feels like a slow, deep massage and is excellent for improving circulation, softening fascia, and relieving generalized stiffness. It’s often used along the back, shoulders, and legs — areas that tend to hold chronic tension.
Static cupping, on the other hand, means placing cups in one area and allowing them to rest for several minutes. This approach allows the tissue underneath to soften and release deeply held tension or stagnation. Static cupping can be especially helpful for stubborn knots, old injuries, or areas that feel “stuck” both physically and energetically.
Together, these methods create a balanced experience — movement where the body needs flow, and stillness where it needs time to unwind.
🕯 How It Feels
Cupping feels like a reverse massage — instead of pushing into your muscles, the cups gently lift the skin and underlying tissues. Most people describe it as a deep, pulling stretch followed by a wave of warmth and relief.
Temporary circular marks can appear afterward (a sign of increased circulation), fading within a few days.
🌿 In My Practice
I often integrate gentle cupping into bodywork sessions when your muscles — or your energy — need extra help letting go.
This technique blends beautifully with massage, Reiki, and sound work, offering a deeper release without force.
